How to Save TikTok Photo Posts and Slideshows

Published: September 18, 2026 by Andrew Apell

TikTok photo mode is a swipeable slideshow, not an MP4. A video saver that expects a single MP4 will miss it. Media Wrangler exposes what the post actually contains: images, duration and extractor.

How to tell what you have

Paste the TikTok link in Media Wrangler and Preview. If the preview thumbnail is static and heights is empty, it is a photo post. If you expected video but get no heights, check whether the creator posted a carousel.

Saving options

Media Wrangler will offer image downloads where available: individual JPEGs or a ZIP. Choose one. TikTok also renders some carousels as MP4 with the same images timed to music : that MP4 is re-encoded and lower quality than the original images.

Format When to use Quality
ZIP of images Archive originals Highest, per image
Single JPEG Need one slide Per image
MP4 render Need video timeline Re-encoded

Steps

  1. Copy the TikTok photo post link via Share then Copy Link.
  2. Paste in Media Wrangler, Preview, check thumbnail and count.
  3. Download ZIP or individual images to Downloads, then move to Photos.

On iPhone, ZIP opens in Files; unzip there. On Android, Gallery will index extracted JPEGs.

Paste a public link. Preview. Save.

SD free without an account. 720p, 1080p and MP3 with bundles that never expire.
