Terms of Service
Last updated: June 4, 2026
1. Agreement to Terms
By installing, accessing or using SlideCut (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not install or use the Service.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years of age (or 16 if you are in the European Economic Area) to use the Service. If you are accepting these Terms on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organisation.
3. Description of Service
SlideCut is a Google Workspace add-on that converts document content (Google Docs, Word files, PDFs and text) into editable Google Slides presentations using third-party AI processing. The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranty, as further described in Section 11.
4. Accounts and Responsibility
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Google account and for all activity that occurs under it. SlideCut does not store your Google credentials. You must notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised use of your account.
5. Payment, Credits and Refunds
SlideCut offers a free Demo tier and paid credit packs (Starter and Pro). One credit equals one generated slide. Credit packs are one-time purchases and do not auto-renew. Credits expire one year from the date of purchase. Expired credits are not forfeited; your next credit pack purchase will reactivate any expired credits and add the new ones on top.
All payments are processed by Google Workspace Marketplace or a designated payment processor. We do not store or process payment details. Refund requests are handled in accordance with the applicable payment processor's policy. To request a refund, contact us.
6. User Responsibilities
You are solely responsible for the content you process through the Service. You must ensure that your use of the Service complies with all applicable laws and does not infringe the rights of any third party.
You agree not to:
- Use the Service to generate harmful, abusive, deceptive or illegal content.
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile or extract the source code of the Service.
- Use the Service in any manner that could damage, disable or impair the Service.
- Submit sensitive personal data (such as health or financial records) through the Service.
- Circumvent any technical restrictions, usage limits or safety features of the Service.
7. Intellectual Property
Your Content: The presentations and content you generate with SlideCut belong to you. SlideCut does not claim any ownership over the documents you process or the presentations you create.
Our IP: The SlideCut add-on, its code, design, branding and underlying technology are the exclusive property of Andrew Apell and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
8. Third-Party Services
SlideCut uses the Gemini API (Google) to process document content and generate slides. Your use of the Service is subject to Google's applicable terms and privacy policy. We use a paid, enterprise-grade Gemini API. In accordance with Google's commitments for its paid API services, your prompts and responses are not used to train AI models and are processed under Google's Data Processing Addendum.
9. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, without prior notice, if you breach these Terms or if your use poses a security or legal risk. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Any presentations you have already generated remain in your Google Slides account and are not affected.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Andrew Apell and SlideCut from any claims, damages or expenses arising out of your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms or your infringement of any third-party rights.
11. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE OR THAT GENERATED CONTENT WILL MEET YOUR EXPECTATIONS. GENERATED CONTENT SHOULD BE REVIEWED BEFORE USE.
12. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL ANDREW APELL OR SLIDECUT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE SERVICE IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM OR $50. THIS LIMITATION APPLIES WHETHER THE CLAIM IS IN CONTRACT, TORT OR OTHERWISE.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.
13. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms shall first be attempted to be resolved informally by contacting us. If the dispute cannot be resolved within 30 days, you agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
14. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
15. General Provisions
Entire Agreement: These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and SlideCut regarding the Service and supersede any prior agreements.
Severability: If any provision of these Terms is held to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
Waiver: Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.
16. Contact Us
